Fun Math Website

We use this website a lot in math and the children love it. You may like to have the website at home for them to play and practice their math skills.

Go Clips!

It definitely felt like football weather last night with the brisk autumn air blowing around at the game! What a great game the Clippers played tonight! Go Clippers!

Musical Instrument Supplies

Please have your child's supplies in by Tuesday so we can begin making their musical instrument on Wednesday. The children have been learning what sound is and different ways to make it. I cannot wait to actually see them doing this in action! The students will have so much fun making these and then playing them for the class. What a fun week it will be for me and my class of inventors!

Picture Day

Picture day is Monday October 4th. Picture forms were on your child's desk at Open House. If your were unable to attend Open House, I put your child's picture form in their mailbox and it should have come home on Thursday night. Please send in the picture form with your child to school on Monday.

Open House

Thank you to all of the parents and family members who attended our Open House on Wednesday. It was great to meet some of you for the first time and to see others who I have met before. The children were so happy for their families to see where they spend their day. I know it meant a lot to them and I thank you!
I truly appreciate all that you do as family members of young children (especially parents). Thank you for your support in you child's education!

Scholastic Book Clubs

Scholastic book club paperwork came home today. Please take the time to look through it, but please do not feel obligated to buy books. Scholastic book club is a great way for you to build your child's library at home, as well as at school because each time you purchase a book for your child, Scholastic donates a book to our classroom library. September orders are due by September 28, 2010.

Grandparent's/Special Person Day

We had a wonderful morning today by celebrating time with the people that are special to us. It was great to meet some new faces and to see the joy that these special people brought to the children. Thank you to all who came in and made all the students feel important. Also, thank you to everyone who helped organized this awesome event!

Entertainment Books

If you still have an entertainment book at home please return it or send the money for the book in with your child.

Writer's Notebooks

What a great day we had designing the covers of our writer's notebooks. I thank all the families for their help in this project. The children really enjoyed starting this and look forward to writing about the different topics in their notebooks.
